Advanced Audio/Video Production

Overview & Objectives:
We will..... learn and apply the video produduction processes of pre-production, production, and post-production.
Behavior:
We will... actively participate, listen, follow studio rules, and stay on task. Cel phones will be put away or can be charging at the charging station.

Engaging Activity(Warm-up):
  • Find seat according to Seating Charts
  • Log on to Google Classroom to see todays Objectives.
  • Check Skyward for DUE DATEs and current grades.
Lecture:
  • TSA Students - we will discuss TSA Regional Results and State Competition. Get Ready for TSA State 4/16 to 4/18.
  • BPA News Team - Be sure to start preparing your presentations. Get ready for BPA State 3/5 to 3/7.
  • MISD Film Festival - DUE by 3/17. Submit by 3/20. Film Festival is on 4/20.
  • If you film during class, be sure to sign out and bring your AAVP Lanyard.

Team Project: Introduce & Discuss:

  • Discuss projects that we will work on for the Remainder of the year. (Finish Film Festival, Gmetrix Certification, News Packages, News Show)
    • View Examples of various projects and discuss
  • Film Festival Assignment: As a class, discuss status of your projects. Finish reshoots and final Edits. DUE (L5.06)
  • Choose Your Own Project Assignment - choose project, submit CYOP Assignment Concept Pitch Form, & complete CYOP documentation and video by due date. DUE (L5.15)
    • Pick between the following Project Choices:
      • 30 Second Commercial Assignment - Create a 30 second commercial selling a real product.
      • How-To Training Video Assignment - Create a 1.5 to 5 minute "How to" training video
      • Green Screen Assignment - create 3 short green screen scenes (total of 30 seconds or less EACH). You may share the green screen video with a partner but you need to come up with different backgrounds.
      • Silent Film Assignment - create a (30 to 60 seconds) video that uses no dialogue to tell a story. You may use sound effects, music, and expressive movements to tell the story. MUST DO A SHOT LIST INSTEAD OF SCRIPT
      • About-Me "Mini-documentary" video - Create a mini-documentary about “a day in your life.” Take a video camera around school and have your friends talk about current trends and things going on. Take the video camera home and video your family and room.
      • Music Video - Choose a song and create a music video providing a visual to the lyrics of the song. You can have actors lip-sync or just act out the lyrics. Must submit lyrics for approval before you begin. Must be "Clean Version"
    • PAST DUE (L5.03): CYOP Assignment Concept Pitch Form - Complete this form to state your project choice and pitch your idea to your teacher.
  • Practice Gmetrix - Complete Test Mode 1 & 2 with 90% or higher. Turn in PDF with scores to Google Classroom and let Mr. Coursey see it on your computer. Must score 900 or higher in Test Mode by (L5.05)
    • I will be checking each persons progress so far. Be sure that you have completed at least one trainging mode!

Lecture:

  • Discuss upcoming Contests
    • TSA State= April 16-18, 2020. Digital Video Production(Mystery Film)
    • BPA State - March 4-7 at the Sheraton in Dalls. Broadcast News Team. Pre-submits 2/10/20.
    • Film Festival (4/20/20) - Projects are due March 17 for submission. Entries are Due March 20, 2020.

  • Login to GMetrix. From the “Start a Test” screen, type your access code provide on your sheet into the “Enter a New Access code” field and click next. Choose Training, Premiere Practice test 1. Practice the Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 Certification questions.
  • TSA Video Production team event - Let Mr. Coursey Know if you intend to compete
