Green Screen Assignment

 
Overview & Objectives:
The green screen is used to create the illusion that something or someone is in front of a completely different background. This background could be a still picture or a movie. Adobe Premiere allows you to layer one on top of the other while eliminating the green background.
Materials/Resources:

Materials

  • Adobe Premiere
  • GarageBand - use GarageBand to create your own background music and to use its copyright-free sound effects.
  • Digital Images
  • Headphones

Resources

# of Participants

  • This is a Group Assignment. You may work individually, or in groups of 2 to recieve credit.
Vocabulary: add vocabulary words related to the assignment
Directions:

Your assignment is to create 3 short green screen scenes (total of 30 seconds or less). You may share the green screen video with a partner but you need to come up with different backgrounds.

Ideas:

  • be a superhero flying through hallways
  • be a giant among ordinary students
  • travel to Paris, Calcutta or Tokyo
  • talk with Darth Vader, President Trump or Homer Simpson
  • be as small as a bug trapped on a lunch table, or perhaps jump up and down on a computer keyboard
  • let your imagination go!

Grading:

Opening title

10 pts

3 green screen scenes

  • clean (no bleeding through of green screen) 2 points
  • creative 5 points
  • contained (no missing person parts unless intended) 2 points

 

20 pts
50 pts
20 pts

Total 100 pts

Directions for turning work in:

Save as period_lastnamei_asssignmentname.mp4 (1a_smithj_greenscreen.mp4) in your 5-6wks folder and upload a copy to Google Classroom.

If you are turning in a file as a group project save as (2a_lastnamei1-lastnamei2-lastnamei3_assignmentname.mp4)
